Synopsis
In a remote village in the northern Adirondack Mountains, the Franciscan monastery of St. Eustace administers an alcoholic rehabilitation program directed by Father Joe who is seriously ill. The religious order will close the program after Father Joe dies and he has no hope of finding another member of the order needed to administer the program.
Two new clients, Eddie and Carlos, arrive, but some intrigue surrounds Eddie who has been admitted surreptitiously after being released from prison. Eddie's father, Francis Brogan, a real estate developer, has donated money to the monastery in exchange for accepting his son as a client.
One of the counselors, Dan Burns, is suspicious of Mr. Brogan motives. Another counselor, Paul Hewett, a recovering alcoholic himself is confronted by his wife seeking a divorce.
Paul Hewett, Father Joe, Eddie and Francis Brogan's lives and deaths come together. Some find redemption. Some do not.
